National Honor Society

The National Honor Society is an organization which focuses on Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. To be considered for this prestigious honor, beginning in the sophomore year, a student must maintain a 3.25 GPA and display exemplary conduct. Becoming a member of the NHS provides students with many opportunities to serve and lead, not only at Glades Day School but also in the Glades community as well as surrounding communities. Some of the service opportunities include a Thanksgiving Food Drive with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Pahokee United Methodist Church Annual Bake Sale, Gove Elementary School Buddy Christmas Party, Very Special Arts West Festival, Oneblood Blood Drive Donations, American Youth Soccer Organization, and other various activities in the area.

National Junior Honor Society

National Junior Honor Society Membership in the National Junior Honor Society is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a junior high school student. To be considered for this prestigious honor, beginning in the seventh grade, a student must maintain a 3.25 GPA and display exemplary conduct.  The NJHS has worked hard to bring the accomplishments of outstanding students to the attention of parents, teachers, peers, and the community.  Chapters in more than 12,500 high schools across the nation strive to give practical meaning to the Society’s goals of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
